Jun 5, 2005 Bottle, 33cl. Beautiful dark brown color with a long lasting head. Unfortunatelly the flavour on this one was extremely metallic and i could hardly finish it. It doesn´t seem a problem with the cap so... i’ll try another one later to see if i get a better impression. For now.... not approved.

May 29, 2005 Brown colour with a off-white head. Light sweet yeasty caramel malty aroma and a sweet caramel taste. Medium to full body and a sweet finish.

Chocolatey, caramelly aroma. Quite metallicy in flavour and slightly bitter, but also smooth and typically double. Similar to Achel Dark but with a tinge of bitterness. Gorgeous aroma from a Charles Quint glass.

May 22, 2005 I’m not too keen on this. It smells like herbs and candy. And the flavor is way too sweet in my opinion.The palate is also sweet (of course) and metallic. However, cheers for the label (which looked different than on this picture). Four old monks drinking beer.Funny.

Mar 13, 2005 Bottle, Criterion, Leicester Crawl Jan 2005. Deep chestnut, good off white head, good condition. Big chocolaty malt and slightly nutty dubbel aromas, creamy and slightly earthy in the mouth with more solid chocolate maltiness. Lingering chocolate and roasty dry bitterness in the finish. I forgot how good this was.

Mar 8, 2005 Very earthy and wet hay nose. clean but little complexity. some sweet caramel malt hint with a candy sugar profile. A little bit of malt bitterness on the finish with a toffe sweetness and some grass.
