Very earthy and wet hay nose. clean but little complexity. some sweet caramel malt hint with a candy sugar profile. A little bit of malt bitterness on the finish with a toffe sweetness and some grass.

Very dark amber beer with reddish glow and with beige creamy head. Fine sweet aroma’s of malts, caramel, dried raisins, nuts, nougat, and some herbal hints. Taste is malty and sweet. It has some milk-chocolate accents, again dried raisins, some smooth caramel, dry leafs from a forrest, Lait-Russe with sugar, tropical wood (cedar) and a bitter touch of herbs and hops.

Bottle at the Criterion, Leicester (during RB crawl). Red/brown with a creamy head. Sweet and gentle up till the end, when some strength is noticeable. Cereal flavour - some bran. Not the tastiest Dubbel, but reasonably smooth (perhaps like Magnum PI).

Bottled - Criterion - Leicester (RB Leicester Crawl). A brown coloured beer with a large off-white head. The aroma has candy sugars and also seems ’gritty’. The taste is full of good flavours with brown fruits (raisins, sultanas etc.) and malty alcohol together with candy sugars. A tasty beer.

Bottle bought in Belgium. The last of the range I’ve tried, this is sweet chocolate, malty and a slight bitter finish. It’s OK.

Ruby red colored with big lasting beige head. Yeasty, sweet banana aroma with notes of pepper and alcohol. Very sweetly fruity and peppery flavored, spicy and yeasty aftertaste last long. Alcohol is covered totally in flavor, with decent full body mouthfeel is nice. Ending is dry made by hops and pepper.

Sampled at the Ostend Beer Festival 2004 in Oostende, Belgium. Burnt Copper. Aromas from the sea; salt and plant life, along with dark fruits, mainly grapes and plums. Light-bodied, which effects the beer a lot. Spicyness, pepper and ginger and others; plums and cloves. Barely bearable.
