Hazy red ruby, almost cherry color. Huge brown head, lots of lace. Roasted aroma with hints of some herbal tones. Medium to full-bodied, crisp, fruity and malty. Alcohol kicks in the start and gives very sharp mouthfeel. Bitter aftertaste. A bit out of balance abbey dubbel.

Gushing to huge brown-yellow head, leaving good lace; brown ale with clear reddish shine. Nose with brown bread, touch of chocolate, roasted - and mint (the herb). Rather bitter, typical Leroy walnutpeel taste, coffeedrab, pungent. Underneath some sweet malt and even sugar. There are raisins and raw pipetobacco too. Dark chocolate in the finish. Rather well-bodied. Long bitterish aftertaste. It’s not bad - it’s this horrible Leroy - coffee taste that initially spoils so much. Once acclimatised, it’s too far gone...

The aroma is quite sweet with notes of yeast, prunes, and raisins. The color is an opaque deep red and it has a beutiful lasting light brown head. The flavor is also very sweet with notes of brown suger, yeast, prunes, raisins, and hints of wood. The end is dry from hops but also with hints of coriander and coffee bitterness. Compared to the strength the mouthfeel is a little thin.

Dark amber color; giant creamy head; beautiful lace. Common aroma for a Dubbel, with some malt and caramel, and some carbonic gas nose. Pleasant taste, with some sweetness to balance the classic caramel. Ends with a delicate touch of roasted malt, light fruitness, light aromatic hop. A good example.

(Bottled) Very nice, deep red color, turns into very hazy, beautiful christmasy color with solid yeast in the bottom, and a quite large and foamy, beige head. Malty, sweetish aroma with raisins and spices. Sweet, syrupy-malty, reasonably complex, spicy flavor with cherry and pear hints. Long, syrupy aftertaste. Slicky, oily, medium to full-bodied and sugary, warming palate with a slightly foamy carbonation. Sweetness and well-hidden alcohol make this one a nice dessert brew.
