Flavor was way too sweet imo, also has notes of vegetables and flower nectar, but i dont really like it cause of the sirup sweetness. SHIG (2033), Aviano, Italy

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 2, 2007 The head is very nice and silky smooth on this dark red/brown beer, and it leaves a thick lace with islands of foam. The aroma is spicy and inviting. The mouthfeel is full. The flavour is sweet, spicy with notes of lilac, plum, coriander and citrus. The citrus and the bitterness mingles well in the finish. Yeasty earthy nose that softly transfroms itself to minerals, almond and melon. Sweet and very soft, near full bodied. Later on another soft transition occurs - this time to grapefruit, syrup and salt. Finally it gradialy turns into resiny pine needle bitterness. A sensationally seemless beer that weaves your mouth into a silky web full of complex flavours. Too sweet, but who cares? This is art! FlacoAlto (2473), Tucson, Arizona, USA

Pours with an almost brilliantly clear, amber-copper color. It is topped by a frothy, initially three-finger thick light tan colored head. The aroma smells of caramel, cider, musty leather, tobacco and some sherry-like oxidized malt notes. Aromatic touches of plum, raisin and a spicy woody character are all noticeable at times as well.
The taste is fairly sweet, with a medium fullness to it that seems quite a bit lighter than one would expect from a 10% brew. Touches of apple cider, tart plums, raisins and perhaps a touch of figs add to the fruitiness found in this beer. Caramelize malt notes are definitely noticeable as is a light biscuit-like character in the finish. Also in the finish is just a touch of sherry (the light oxidation shows up more in the nose than it does in the flavor). There is a touch of woody, or maybe leaf-like character here as well as a rich malty note that does not contribute near as much as I would like. This really just seems a bit flabby in the flavor department, there is not a whole lot going on, especially for a beer of this strength. HermanW (626), Coevorden, Netherlands
