clear brown, thin tan head, sweet dark malt aroma with a nice chocolate essence, light malt flavor with a light bitter finish, a good drinking brown ale but not a whole lot of character or complexity

| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jun 29, 2007 Strong citrus lemon aroma and malt. Color is amber with bubbly tan head. Flavor is slightly metallic (at first) to strongly metallic on the duration. Sweet malt and some dried fruit. Very bubbly like 7-up the bubbles stuck to the inside of the glass all the way down to the bottom. Perhaps past it’s prime. Almost tastes like 1/2 beer 1/2 7-up. Very odd but not undrinkable. An aroma of sea salt really trumped anything else in the aroma department. Flavor was really metallic, light fruits with a clean finish. Think I’ll look for a fresher version and then re-rate. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jun 9, 2007 Bottle: Poured a reddish brown amber with creamy light tan head. The aroma was sweet fruit and malt. The taste was very diffrent than I was expecting it was alsmost a sweet irony taste which could call for the hoppy bitterness. Maria (6286), Thisted, Denmark
