The nose is sweet and fruity. Of course the head and lace are spot on Belgian style. The palate is smooth rounded and medium in body. I taste darker fruits and sugars coupled with a slight bit of chocolate. The finish is smooth fruity and long lasting. Overall, I find this beer to be a great example of a Belgian session Abbey Ale. Very dried-fruity, complex and pleasant aroma. Flavor is slightly sweet and grainy, but very (dried-) fruity with low bitterness and caramely malt. Medium body, soft carbonation. Pleasant and balanced dubbel, but probably better with yeast from the bottle.
(Draught, was 7-5-8-4-15=3.9) Very dark reddish brown color with small, beige head. Slightly sweet, hoppy aroma with rye-pudding. Very malty, rye-pudding flavor. Full-bodied, syrupy palate with very well-balanced carbonation. A very nice, sweet and malty brew. bitter (1137), Henderson, Nevada, USA
