Commercial Description:
Bottle conditioned.
For this sweet flavoured and dark brown beer,we use aromatic malt (for the dark colour). For abbey beer, Kapittel Pater has rather low abv (6%). The hop we use is Poperingse hop which has only a light bitter taste.

Murky, dull dark copper body with an off-white head. Some burnt caramel and some yeast on the nose though not too strong. Tasted pretty much as it smelled, smooth, easily drinkable, good alcohol strength but nothing really standing out.

On draught at the brewery tap. Darkish brown with thin white head. Aroma of candy and caramel. A bit thin and sweet, caramel and plum taste.

Het Kapittel Watou Pater is a cloudy, tawny ale with a sudsy beige head. It has a faint aroma of dark sugar, alcohol and funk. It has a smooth medium body with a light, clean finish. It tastes leathery and funky, with a touch of sweetness at the finish. There is a light, herbal bitterness and a touch of sour. Not bad.

Murky brownish-red, a thin cream colored cover of a head. Prunes and unsettling light sweetness. Some candi sugar, plums, and a slight hoppiness. Mediocre and watery.

Hazy blonde pour into trappist glass, sour hoppy, wheat, grass taste, clean crisp finish, quite sweet. Pretty good light beer.

Bottle 33cl. Pours a dark red/brown colour, nice head that lasts. Aroma is rather vague and absent, but still enjoyable. Very sweet fruityish flavour, but very plain, not bad, but not good either. Very watery beer.
