Subtle tastes again, I have to wonder if I got an improperly stored beer. Flavor was there just weak. Kind of like a watery pinot noir in the wine world. Need to try this one again. downender (2636), Bristol, Gloucestershire, England
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 29, 2007 Bottle from Hop Duvel, Gent. Mahogany coloured with a decent tan head that left plenty of lacing. Aroma was sweet, with plenty of dark fruit, candy sugar and yeast. The flavour was similar with a slightly bitter finish. Not the most memorable Belgian beer. Naven (881), Poway, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Dec 26, 2007 Bottle. From gift pack. This was a sweet, fruity, tasty beer. Brown sugar, molasses and raisins were very prominent. There was a slight metalic flavor that was a little distracting, other than that, I enjoyed this one. DYCSoccer17 (2201), Davis, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Dec 20, 2007 11.3 ounce bottle from a mixed 4 pack that was purchased at Covell Nugget in Davis, CA. Aroma is a bit roasted, sweet, fruity, and estery. Some vinous, pitted fruit aromas are also there. Pleasant and quaffable. Moderately hazy dark amber body with a small lightly off-white head that leaves nice lacing. Sweet, a bit sugary, malty start, which becomes a bit roasty in the middle. A little yeasty esteriness then follows. Not much in the way of hops, but an all-around drinkable belgian ale. Pretty enjoyable. bhensonb (4380), Woodland, California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Dec 14, 2007 Aroma of sweet, darkish caramel. Reddish tinged amber color with a white head that didn’t hold up. Medium body with fizzy/creamy carbonation. Flavor is sweet caramel with biscuit and mild hop accompanied by dried fruit. It’s very tasty, and there is a complex interaction between the malt and the hop. It seems to change from sip to sip. Pretty nice stuff. altonbrownd (1962), Amsterdam, Netherlands

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 8, 2007 Pours a densely hazy brown that is golden at the edges with a moderately creamy light brown head that leaves behind delicate lace. Initially low aroma of sweet cream, then as it warms some soft banana bread and caramel come out. Richly sweet palate of chewy caramel malts, stewed fruits, banana bread, with a dry almost salty finish. A nice cool weather treat without a head-spinning alcohol content.
