Pours a very cloudy and dark amber with a big head that stays with you and leaves quite a bit of lacing. Smell is of sweet malts and yeast on the start with an almost doughy tone to it. Flavor is full and long with a noticable sweet tone. Alcohol is somewhat noticable, though not nastily so, and it seems to show more so towards the end and as time goes on. Overall this is a very even brew - though it holds no unusual or unique characteristics. The alcohol is masked pretty well andthe flavor is full and smooth. Very drinkable, but with 9%, you feel it, so you wouldn’t be able to go for too much. And at the price I got it, who’d really want to make it a session brew.

Bottle: Poures a dark brown color with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet fruit and earthy tones to it. The taste is a dark rich candy caramel taste and a dry malt finish.

Bottle. Middling brown with a moderate off-white head. Aroma of creme caramel and dark fruits. Flavour of dark fruits and muscovado sugar with a long bitter finish. Very easy drinking for 9% ABV and highly enjoyable.

Bottle. Dark, extremely malt-forward. Caramel prominent in flavor and aroma. Maybe a bit too sweet for someone who avoids processed sugars. Very long-lasting finish. Some faint yeast, hazlenut, and roastiness. Pretty nice stuff.

Bottle. Average light brown creamy head that mostly diminished. Light cloudy brown color. Spare lacing. Light notes of bread, caramel, Belgian yeast, spice, roasted malt, and fruit. Medium to full bodied with an average carbonation and light alcoholic texture. Moderated sweet flavor with light bitterness. Sweet caramel finish. Nice and very drinkable Belgian Strong.

Bottle at the famous Brugs Beertje bar in Brugge (Belgium), brown with strong reddish tints and a foamy tan head. A complete aroma of rich molasses malt, with yeast and hops also evident. The palate is oh so smooth, with easy malt flavours and a touch of dryness. Easy to drink for 9%. Seems under-rated here to me. (Wetherel - I think you should stop buying your beer from the ’Holiday Wine Cellar’!)
