Orange-brown with lace. Aroma of celery, carmel, dusty funk, spices; not nice, but interesting. Spicy, dry flavor with grapes, metal, caramel, noticeable alcohol. Very dry with a very bitter, astringent and harsh finish. Dirty tasting. Interesting, original and challenging, but, well, unpleasant.

This dark copper ale poured with a large fluffy beige head and a sour malt aroma. There is a rather chalky, but intense, roasted malt flavor with a hint of candi sugar and raisin.

33cl bottle from den belgiske ølbutik, helsinge. clear dark brown, supersmooth yellow thick head. aroma of raisins, dark fruits, flowery soap, nuts, metal. flavor is faint roasted grains, metal, flowery notes, faint raisins, bitterness probably from spices. spicy roasted thing, unbalanced, strange flavors in there, so not really the greatest belgian out there.

This poured an amber color with a moderate beige head. The aroma is quite yeasty with some brown sugar, caramel, figs, raisins, cherries, and alcohol. Woooo nelly! The flavor is rather dry with more dark fruit, caramel, yeasty notes, brown sugar, and molasses. If someone doesn’t understand what an earthy character means have them try this beer. The alcohol shows through in the aftertaste but not overpowering. Overall a well done beer.
