Spicy, dry flavor with grapes, metal, caramel, noticeable alcohol. Very dry with a very bitter, astringent and harsh finish. Dirty tasting. Interesting, original and challenging, but, well, unpleasant.

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 11, 2009 This poured an amber color with a moderate beige head. The aroma is quite yeasty with some brown sugar, caramel, figs, raisins, cherries, and alcohol. Woooo nelly! The flavor is rather dry with more dark fruit, caramel, yeasty notes, brown sugar, and molasses. If someone doesn’t understand what an earthy character means have them try this beer. The alcohol shows through in the aftertaste but not overpowering. Overall a well done beer.
