| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 28, 2009 A - Pours a hazy medium brown color. Not a bad looking beer but certainly not a beautiful looking beer. With so many beautiful Belgians, it’s hard to rate this anything above average. Not quite the head, nor the carbonation levels, of others.
S - All the aromas of a freshly baked sweet raisin breakfast bread. Brown sugar, mild fruity esters, and bready. Very nice smelling beer. Slight alcohol aroma in the background.
T - Very similar to smell, just not quite as intense. Alcohol flavor is more prevalent than compared to the smell. No hop bitterness. Finish is malty but not an overly sweet malt finish.
M - Just a touch thinner than I would expect out of such a robust and complex smelling/tasting beer. Carbonation being a little light plays into a certain "thinness." However, I think the lack of excessive carbonation leaves a creaminess which is nice.
D - Considering the style, very drinkable. Considering the sweetness, it would not be hard to have a couple of these in one sitting.
Overall, a very nice beer. A fine interpretation of the style. I would certainly recommend picking one up if given the opportunity.

Malty, fruity nose with dried fruit, brown sugar, marzipan and caramel. Malty, fruity taste with notes of dried fruit, orange, toffee, brown sugar, caramel and a spicy finish. On the sweet side with a warming alcohol bite. Full body, smooth mouthfeel. Tasty and chewy. Very nice beer. kappldav123 (1867), Markkleeberg, Germany
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 19, 2009 The bottle looks good, only the EAN-code on the front-label is not nice. The beer starts very strong, roasty-malty, scratchy. Prickly-fruity finish, very complex. Really good! TaxiDriver (943), Stadland, Germany

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Apr 4, 2009 The aroma is dusty, with caramel, grass, and a tiny bit of fruit. The appearance is deep amber with a large head. The flavor is like the aroma but better with an emphasis on caramel malt. The palate is thin. Overall a nice beer. plutoodie (12), Belgium
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 3, 2009 Found a Prior from 1987 - 22 years old! Dark brown although a little light colored. Sweet nose, mild and fruity. Very nice in the mounth. I have not tasted a young Prior, but my guess is that it had peaked a few years ago. This proves that you successfully can save beer ;-)
