Bottle, deep dark brown. Nicely lacing frothy head. Aroma of spicy bread with toffee flavor and a long lasting sweet aftertaste. Thick yummy body, perhaps a bit too sweet. A beer well worthy a friday evening.

Dark. I thought it was more of a dubbel than Belgian strong. Thick palate and the standard dubbel qualities, loads of malt. Not as sweet as some, but sweet nonetheless. Some dried fruit in the flavor.

(bottle - 330 ml) Murky ruby red pour with about an inch of off-white foam. Aroma is very rich and full of flavors including a good amount of yeast, raisins, plums, alcohol, and some cookie dough. Flavor is very sweet and malty at the start with a good hint of raisins and dark fruits. The middle is quite yeasty and malty with a slightly crisp and malty finish. Aftertaste is some tart fruits and alcohol.

330ml bottle (Cracked Kettle, Amsterdam)
Pours a hazy rich brown with a thick tight beige head. Quite a fruity, but also a touch metallic, aroma - plenty of sweet roast malts too. Lively carbonation. Huge richly roasted and very malty taste. Fairly yeasty even though poured without much yeast. Quite sharp biting noble hoppy bitterness that stays for a pretty long finish. Maltiness and yeastiness also remain a little sludgy in the mouth. Alcohol fairly well restrained - battered into submission by the metallic and estery components.

330 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 9%. Mahogany coloured beer with a nice beige head, no haziness. Malty aroma and flavour with notes of brown sugar, dried dark fruits and caramel, hints of spices. The aftertaste is spicy with a moderate hoppy bitterness. Not quite in the league of the trappists, but certainly a good beer.

Reddish brown with a thin white head that almost completely disappears. Brown sugar, candied fruit aromas. Plums and raisins and nice carbonation. Sweet brown sugary body with more dark fruits and an alcohol nip at the end.

bottle from a shop in Liege. Pours brown with shades of red and almost no head, looks awesome. Smells sweet and sour, slightly spicy. Taste wonderfully sweet and bitter coming to a nice clean sweet finish that lingers on the back of the tongue. A light alcohol burn comes into play as it warms but I think it only makes it better by bringing out some dark fuity character in the backround. Complex and delicious.
