cbeers21 (563), Miami, Florida, USA Oct 8, 2009 Sturdy hazy amber pour. Hearty maltiness is apparent at first and gets a little deep with some light fruited flavors. Musty sweet qualities to smell and taste but they graduate into a slightly warming fruity, faint tartness Tastes like there is high alcohol in it. Not too bad. dkoonce (880), People’s Republic of Athens, Ohio, USA Aug 22, 2009 Bottle. Dark amber, with a almost non-existent head. Heavy and sweet. And, just a little bit sour. NJBeerman013 (764), Trenton, New Jersey, USA Aug 9, 2009 Bottle. Pours a light orange in color with a pure white head. The aroma is slightly citrusy, somewhat astringent, and hints of fruit. Notes of citrusy orange, herbs, and something medicinal. Medium body and a warm alcoholic finish. NJJereme (261), Saint Petersburg, Florida, USA Aug 8, 2009 Bottle. Pours an amber color with a light off-white head. Aroma and tastes of roasted malts primarily. A hint of fruit and a slightly bitter finish. Light to medium bodied. drpimento (785), La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA Aug 4, 2009 Whoa! That’s a sweet (flavored, not good) beer! Poured with a decent off-white head and a bit of lace. Color is a lovely medium amber. Aroma is an extremely sweet smelling malt and a hint of beer. Flavor is the same but bolder. Real heavy alcohol character. Could be worse I suppose. Strongly suspect a headache in a bottle. Finish is sadly not short. FatPhil (3443), Espoo, Finland Jul 17, 2009 Updated: Jul 18, 2009500ml can (Carrefour, Warsaw)
Paleish orange, brief head. Bready and doughy aroma, some hops come
through too. Very rich and sweet in the mouth, caramelly, and with a
tingle from the carbonation and the hops. Taste fairly simple, but
good, ESL mostly sweet malts and caramel, and with a huge spiky hoppy
tingle. Finish has the hop spike mellow out to give more indication
that it’s a hop rather than an astringent chemical, and of course the
sweet maltiness continues. Only finally do you realise that this
actually has some alcohol in it; they covered the 8.7% under the sugar
and the hops very well, considering, there was no taste of alcohol at
all (even if the fullness and vapours in the mouth gave it away). Kuzo (32), Allentown, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 15, 2009 Updated: Aug 9, 2009Serving type: Bottle poured in to a pint glass at near-room temperature.
Amber pour with a white head that dissipated rather quickly and left no lace. Malty sweet aroma with hints of fruit and honey. Sweet and malty with light alcohol. Hints of spice. No hops what-so-ever. Thick, unpleasant feel that lingered in the back of my throat.
It was worth trying but overall I was not very impressed. Rciesla (3500), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA Jul 13, 2009 Bottle. Amber with a white head. Sweet malty with a light caramel and apple honey malt character. Sweet and chewy with lagered notes. A bit of a mess.
