Sweet malt, alcohol, and subtle hops in the flavor. Full body, creamy and tingly, definite alcohol warmth in finish and aftertaste. Not bad. notalush (2678), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 16, 2005 Light copper pour with a subtantial, but short-lived head - lots of fruity esters in the aroma, especially strawberry - highly evident alcohol in the flavor, along with some of the esters from the aroma and a light grain taste - some hops are present, but add an odd, metallic bitterness. haukur (684), Reykjavik, Iceland
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 14, 2005 a big surprise, more like a bock or a doppelbock than a strong lager, caramel aroma, very smooth on the tongue, malty, again that caramel, well balanced and thick is maybe the word that comes to mind... excellent Pigfoot (2226), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 12, 2005 Clear, golden toned look, capably capped by creamy froth.
Soft nose, muted malt, quiet grains, speaking louder....nice.
Smooth, sweet, especially tasty on the tongue...was described to me as being akin to a blonde doppelbock, and I am definitely getting that now. Grainy texture, warming, gathering toward an almost brandyish feel, bold, brash, slick and thick, ...very classy, for a strong one. A good one to store away for the colder nights to come.
Very well-designed, great balance. Strong, but held together in such a way that the booziness never goes over the edge. Medium-bodied, long, malty finish...I like this, and will most likely return to it.

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 6, 2005 This is how I think a lager should be. The taste is all malt, and heavy on the tongue. The ABV is high, but personally I couldn’t tell. No other exotic flavors per se, its just a steady, solid lager. PorterPounder (3146), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 30, 2005 Updated: Aug 31, 2005Whole Foods, Winter Park, Fl - 1 pt .9 fl oz bottle. Light orange pour with a thin, but sticky and long lasting white head. Slightly fruity aroma, of the overripe variety, with a bit of alcohol mixed in. Flavor has some cake mix biscuity sweetness with some yeasty undertones. Some fruity notes in the flavor as well with a back end bit of toffee. Alcohol makes its presence known, but is an invited guest and not unappreciated. Mouthfeel is sticky, not bad. frankenkitty (1903), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Aug 18, 2005 Orange in color with a cream colored head and soft carbonation. Musty aromas were hay and herbs with floral notes (not "pretty" flowers though... maybe weeds or thistle). The 8.7% comes through as it warms. Flavor was moderately malted with an evil sweetness over a heavy metallic taste/feel. Major grain alcohol kick to end with all that metallica. From experience, I have a bias against Polish lagers that this beer validated: sweet, musty, metallic... blech. (But not catty.)
