Very nice price for such a treat. I really like this beer. Sweet, but the alcohol backs up the sweetness. Reminds me of a weakish Icebock or a healthy Blond Dopplebock. Malt flavor dominates the taste. Hops add a background business, and are not obtrusive. Light in color with a head that actually lingers for a bit despite the alcohol. 9.1%

Jun 16, 2008 This is an enjoyable, smooth strong lager. It’s amber with a fairly big off-white head that shrinks slowly to a thin, wispy top and a hint of lace. The aroma is fresh, toasty sweet bread, hint of lemon, pine, and rather nice. It has a bit of a Czech lager taste to it and the alcohol is essentially unnoticeable. The taste is clearly alcholic, but very smoothly so, with nothing rough opr unpleasant. It has a light caramel quality, bread, and nice, warm spiciness, it’s a bit rasiniy, sweet and spicy with a light bitterness coming to the fore in the finish. It does not taste quite as strong as it is.

Apr 2, 2008 Pour is deep golden with a thin skin of a white head...smell is lightly fruity with melons and sugar...taste is lightly sweet and grainy with a full mouthfeel...there isn’t realy much to this beer except for the sweetness...how this is almost 9% is rather amazing...

Mar 24, 2008 Pours a nice amber with minimal head. Malty, honey and bread aroma. Has a similar taste, the honey giving it a nice smoothness. I paired this with kielbasa for easter dinner and the slightly sweet taste worked well with the smoked meat.
