Nov 16, 2002 A best strong lager beer. It’s taste is absolutely unforgetable. The aftertaste is a bit too sweetish and the foam could last longer. Not for people who like classic taste of lager with some bitterness. Hevelius Kaper is far away from bitter.

Dec 20, 2003 Updated: Dec 22, 2003This beer (to use a Hopscotchism) ROCKS!!! Deep yellow color with a perfect white head. Spicey floral aroma with hints of alcohol, that says "Grand Cru". Big malty profile perfectly balanced with spicey hops and a slight alcohol burn. Absolutely delicious!!!

Feb 26, 2002 Just the right amount of body - not too light or too heavy. A unique flavor that reflects the high alcohol content without being overpowering. Simply, fun to drink!

Oct 3, 2002 If I had tasted this blind, I’d have confused it for something Belgian. Warming and complex, a powerhouse in all respects yet somehow not too heavy. Excellent.

Jul 13, 2002 hefty beer. alchohol is present in both the flavor and nose. has a slight sweet note - but is more sugary than malty. not very bitter.
reminds me of a british strong ale. not that complex but well balanced and quite tasty. I like it!

Jun 20, 2004 Pours a one-finger white bubbly head leaving a ring and not much lace. Clear light, amber color. Medium carbonation. Medium bodied. Nose is sweet. Starts and finishes sweet. The high ABV is not really noticeable. An excellent choice. $3.50 for a 400ml bottle from Colonial Spirits Acton, Ma.

Nov 5, 2005 500 ml brown bottle available from Armanetti’s , Mundelein, IL. 8.7% ABV. Bottle labeled as expired on October 16, 2005 but I enjoyed it on 10/25/05. Despite expiration, the beer was still great and I did not detect off flavors. Light sweet malt aroma with complex spice and toffee. Soft carbonation. Clear amber hued having diminishing white head with spare lacing. Medium-to-full bodied with creamy texture that starts with a sweet malty flavor with luscious spice, toffee, and some sharp hop bitterness, converts in the middle to a drier palette with less malt flavor, and finishes dry with moderate hop bitterness. A tasty complex beer that resembles a dry barley wine style ale.
