Drew (2377), Kent, Ohio, USA Aug 28, 2007 From Famous Liquors in Lombard, IL. Amber gold clear body, medium head, some lacing. Aroma is sweet and some peppery hop too. Sweet grainy taste with mostly dry finish.
yesyouam (366), Fairport, New York, USA Sep 21, 2008 Hevelius Kaper is a very clear, sparkling amber/copper lager with a soft, dense, off-white head with white splotches. It has great retention and lacing. The aroma is of fruit and vegetables: banana, melon, squash, black pepper, leaves and hay. It’s a little funky. It has a thick, syrupy body and a rather gritty finish. It’s a little sweet and very boozy. It’s funky and resiny with something kind of like cornbread and sorghum. This is almost in Malt Liquor territory! The aftertaste is of cork and resin. This beer is for the hard hearted. The 500 ml bottle was well worth the 97 cents I paid. BeerFanDan17 (397), Land O Lakes, Florida, USA Sep 19, 2008 Sampled at Lowry Park Wazoo in August 2008. Very tasty and unique. Almost creamy in body. Furseth (1166), Kungälv, Sweden Sep 9, 2008 Bottle(Label only Kaper-no hevelius?)
Clear red colour, nice creamy head. Aroma of lots of malts, citric, grassy, dry hopy ending. Flavor has a medium body mouth feeling, short caramely finish. Wulfstan (481), California, USA Jun 16, 2008 This is an enjoyable, smooth strong lager. It’s amber with a fairly big off-white head that shrinks slowly to a thin, wispy top and a hint of lace. The aroma is fresh, toasty sweet bread, hint of lemon, pine, and rather nice. It has a bit of a Czech lager taste to it and the alcohol is essentially unnoticeable. The taste is clearly alcholic, but very smoothly so, with nothing rough opr unpleasant. It has a light caramel quality, bread, and nice, warm spiciness, it’s a bit rasiniy, sweet and spicy with a light bitterness coming to the fore in the finish. It does not taste quite as strong as it is. Piggy (26), Chicago, Illinois, USA Apr 3, 2008 very small thin head, short lasting, smelling like a sweet bitter sugary candy. taste is dry and bitter like, nothing really in the after taste
