Cask at the Monks Retreat (JDW), Reading. Gold with a thin white head; slightly sour aroma of red fruit; flavour is sweet and full of chewy fruit offset by a gentle bitterness; leading to a sticky finish. Pleasant and a refreshing change from the current fashion for light citrus summer ales.

Cask at The Guide Dog, Southampton- Amber coloured with a pleasant hoppy and malty aroma with satsumas detected. The flavour is well balanced with hop and malt with a bit of caramel thrown in.

Cask-conditioned at the Cornubia, Bristol 20/9/07. This was the first pint from a new barrel. Amber coloured with a decent, foamy off-white head. Aroma had some orange fruitiness and floral hops. The flavour had some sweet malt and plenty of earthy hops, before a satisfying bitter finish. Very drinkable.
