Clear medium amber color with a average, frothy to creamy, good lacing, fully lasting, off-white to beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, moderate hoppy, herbs, grass, pine, pine-needle. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (040508)

Mar 24, 2008 Cask, Castle Inn, Bradford-on-Avon ... Reddish brown with a quickly dissipating head. Nice bitter aroma and flavour. I detected a wisp of something out of the ordinary, almost Brettanomyces like. I liked it but I am unsure if it was supposed to be there?

Jun 21, 2007 Cask at Black Door, Helsinki. Mahogany colour. Light coffee aroma. Medium sweet and lightly roasty with notes of coffee with cream as well as lemon. Medium bodied with bol mouthfeel. Finishes with medium bitterness. Pretty average cask bitter.

Brown, as ale should be, with a loose head. Non-descript beery aroma. However, lovely milk and bitter mouthfeel. Full malty taste, bitter hazelnut tones. Finish is malty nutty and long.

May 7, 2007 A Sim rate (cask up the Junction): Better than most of the beers I’ve had tonight. Tastes like red wine and hard liquor but a nicer mix that doesn’t make you sick. Some apple in there too. Smells fruity and malty. Quite nice.

Apr 4, 2007 Updated: Jun 25, 2007Cask conditioned at the Cornubia, Bristol 4/4/07. Bronze coloured with slight head. Aroma predominantly of malt without being sweet. Flavour of subtle fruit with a balancing dry finish. A very well-balanced beer served in top condition.

Apr 6, 2006 Cask conditioned @ Black Boy, Winchester. Lots of fruity malts, I felt it was more of a cherry type fruit but could go with strawberry. Toasted grainy malts. Lightly sweet and gentle hop finish. Really tasty.

Mar 30, 2006 Cask@The Red Lion, Isleworth, WLondon. Some jammy fruit in here, definitely some strawberry. Toffee, wholemeal grainnyness, quite nice and on the maltier side of things.
