Nov 2, 2008 Warm from draft at Kerstbierfestival 2007. A red beer a bit murky with no head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of cherries and cinnamon. The flavor is very sweet with notes of cherries and cinnamon, leading to a dry woody and cherry finish. Underneath is a nice acidity.

Dec 25, 2007 RB# 2500: From tap, warm, Kerstbierfestival 2007 in Essen/Belgium. Pours deep red with a little shortlasting pink head. Cinnamon, cardemomme and cloves spices in the aroma, mild cherry note. Flavour is spiced of the same spices as in the aroma, tart cherry flavour, citric to acid which made me shiver. Lingering berry finish with a light acidity. Lovely - most memorable beer from the 2007 Kerstbeerfestival along with the Duvel Tripel Hop.

Dec 24, 2007 A Mes rate: From a heated keg at Kerstfest, Essen.
Cloudy blood red with a thin bubbly head. Spiced kriek aroma with lots of cinnamon. Tart and spicy flavour with just a light sourness and a lovely sweetness. Awesome, how can anyone not love it? Hot, almost fluffy kriek. Absolutely fantastic. Stunning quaffable velvet mouthfeel. Looks like the initial experiment did not work so well but this year it was glorious.

Dec 16, 2007 Sampled at the Kerstbierfestival... Reportedly a different recipe this year. Sour cherry nose. Somewhat flat and thin, but with a full fruit flavor of tart pie cherry, just an edge of sweetness to keep things reasonable. Warm and delicious.

Dec 23, 2006 From the kettle at the Kerstbierfestival, Essen. Dark purple colour, small frothy pink head. Lots of cherry and spices, including cinnamon and clove. Tart lambik flavours with cherry and moderate spiciness. Not sweet. Light body. Not a personal favourite, but interesting twist all the same.
