| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 19, 2009 Pours reddish brown with thin white head. Aroma is slight but some light oak and sweetness. Flavor is big time sweet with light roastiness. Sweet finish. Just so so for me. Not enough oak for being oak aged. Birdiebeagle (807), Perkasie, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 17, 2009 Bottle A wonderful cause great for the holidays Pours brown with a thin off white head. The head leaves quickly. Produces spotty lacing. Aroma is faint but I get band aids, and malts of caramel. Has a good carbonation. The flavor is okay. Crisp and clean but not much depth. Has a medium body. The finish is decent with an alright aftertaste.

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 15, 2009 To a great cause, but the beer was less than stellar. This one isn’t exactly a brown ale...I would, in fact, state that this one’s appearance is much closer to amber than brown. Too much ruby red/crimson and not enough mahogany here. 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch head produces just a spot or two of lacing. Aroma is nothing more than subtle malt sweetness: light caramel, minimal toffee, and sprinkles of powdered sugar. Similar flavor...uneventful. Thin for the style. kp (8500), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Dec 14, 2009 THOUGHTS: Great way to support the returning troops. Way better than I was expecting. A real malt bomb. It was nice at first, but got a little cloying and then came the metallic bitterness. It wasn’t spiced, but it did seem Christmasy, somehow.
TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a light to medium brown with a small, off-white head that mostly diminished. The aroma was moderate to heavy, molasses, and caramel malt, a little chocolate; light hops; toffee and sour, dark fruit. The initial flavor was sweet, acidic and slightly sour; while the finish was rather sweet, sour and bitter with an average to long duration. There was caramel, sour fruit, metallic hops, toffee, apple, a little raisin, a little chocolate, dark bread, fruits. Became cloying by the end. The medium body was a bit syrupy and got quite sticky by the end. It had fizzy carbonation and a metallic and lightly astringent finish. badgerben (3605), Blaine, Minnesota, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 14, 2009 Dark brown color with a quickly falling medium head. Light piney hop and caramel aroma. Nutty taste, kind of like walnut. A little oak. Some sourness. A bit of vanilla as it comes up a few degrees, but that sourness isn’t going away. keepersj12 (810), Sicklerville, New Jersey, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 13, 2009 Like the description says, perfect for that special someone or dog. Well my dog loved it. I set it down and she lapped up about half without spilling a drop. What was left was very good. Brown with a hint of red with a nice tan head. I didn’t get a lot of aroma but what was there was all malt. The flavor is malty, smoky not at all sweet up front with a nice hop bitterness to follow. Very nice aftertaste. I’ll be Home for the Holidays again. ericandersnavy (1131), crossroads, Texas, USA
