Commercial Description:
Home for the Holidays is a smooth, malty, warming brown ale, brewed with loads of roasted malts to give hints of chocolate and raisin, liberally dosed with noble Halletauer and Saaz hops, and fermented with a Belgian yeast strain. It’s perfect for evenings with that special someone (or your dog, or ideally, both) in front of the fire, or to celebrate the return of a family member who’s been away . . . Profits from the sale of this product will be donated to Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (www.iava.org).

22oz bottle. deep, clear, dark brown under a small frothy tan head. great aroma! lots of nuts, toast. flavor has notes of almond extract, nuts, oak, wood. palate is a bit thin and watery.[ oak adds to the almond sweetness. needs some body work but they had the right idea.

Bomber for a great cause. Pours a hazy dark reddish brown with a one finger off-white head. The nose is caramel malt and roasted nuts. The taste is chocolate, caramel and some pine in the finish. Medium bodied. Not great, but serviceable.

Bottle thanks to BMan1113vr. Pours a nice looking deep, murky brownish red with beige head. Aroma has light notes of oak, a little nutty, sweet, some faint dark fruit. Flavor of light dark fruit esters, malt, acidic, oak, light bitterness with a little brett. Mouth feel is medium-heavy body with medium fizzy carbonation. Overall, not bad, a little warming as well..

Bottle poured into a pint glass produced two finger tan head that stuck around. The body of the brew was a dark brown. Aromas were more roasted than expected but a little buttery as well. This was more bitter and roasted in the flavor department than I like my browns as well. I did like the feel and carbonation. It was a solid medium feel with ample carbonation for your tongue. It was a easy to drink brown, but I like mine a little sweeter. All and all a good brown and a worthy cause Serving type: bottle

22 oz bottle served in a tulip. Pour was mahogany with two inches of thick fluffy beige head. Nose was vanilla, oak, caramel, raisin, and spices. Taste is bitter green wood, molasses, and malt. This smells much better than it tastes. There is not much good I can say on this brew, other than its cause.

Great cause but not a great beer. The wood was more like a pine than an Oak. Very sharp and pungent. Nice ale background but just a bit too much wood.

Pours reddish brown with thin white head. Aroma is slight but some light oak and sweetness. Flavor is big time sweet with light roastiness. Sweet finish. Just so so for me. Not enough oak for being oak aged.
