keepersj12 (774), Sicklerville, New Jersey, USA Oct 12, 2009 Put this next to a "big" lager and see the difference. This has flavor and body. the aroma is not corn but earthy malt and citrus. It has a nice amber color and a big off white head. This is the lager that we loved 100 years ago, not the slop he big guys turn out now. nick76 (2634), Tampa, Florida, USA Sep 26, 2009 The aroma is definitely hoppy with grass, citrus, malt, and yeast. The appearance is hazy gold with a large foamy head. The flavor is like the aroma with a very bitter finish. The palate is what I expected for the style. Overall a really nice attempt at improving a lager but it’s too astringent to enjoy. zach8270 (2050), Henrietta, New York, USA Sep 12, 2009 (bottle - 22 oz) Hazy orange color with a fluffy white head. Aroma is floral and rather malty with a nice sweet backbone. Flavor is surprisingly hoppy at the beginning with a smooth and sweet malt backbone. Finishes very flowery and hoppy with a lingering bitterness. Palidor19 (1748), Brandon, Florida, USA Sep 12, 2009 has got a highly malty presence, with lots of creamy head. The taste is very herbal with a floral hops. good quality goes all the way SuIIy (1405), Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, USA Sep 12, 2009 Bottle. Pours a clear orange color with a foamy white head. nose is strong malt with a nice hop backround, quite grainy with a bit of sweetness. Palate is full with a crisp fizzyness. FLavor is heavy malt and grains with a nice hop note to balance, a nice grassyness as well. hopscotch (5437), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Sep 12, 2009 Bottle… Pours mostly clear and yellow with a large, frothy, white head. Good retention. Biscuity, peppery aroma proffers light roastiness as well. Full-bodied with lively carbonation. Crisp, (a bit) metallically bitter, refreshing flavor and finish. Beerlando (2280), Orlando, Florida, USA Aug 23, 2009 Ultra-fresh bomber. Pours a hazy golden-amber hue with a steady head of smooth, off-white foam. Wet lacing mostly breaks apart, trace spots remaining behind to dry. The aroma is really quite nice, resembling a hoppy pils, big on doughy yeast, pale pilsner malt, and citrusy lemongrass. The balance on the nose is fantastic. Flavors are just as good, toasted white bread malts and peppery, doughy yeast accompanied by a biting, grassy hoppiness and hints of citrus rind. Medium bodied and lively on the tongue, with a semi-dry finish, the brew is both substantial and quaffable. Really good stuff. One of the better American lagers out there for sure. KnN (712), Greenbelt, Maryland, USA Aug 18, 2009 Not my cleanest pour, but this had huge chunks of yeast floating in a murky orange body. Aroma was sharply citrus, reminded me of lemon Palmolive dish-washing soap. Flavor was pretty crisp with a nice balance between the citrus and some maltiness. Meh.
