dj (369), Gloucestershire, England Aug 23, 2008 Bottle, 500ml. A deep brown colour with a good head. A fruity aroma with hoppy notes and cocoa. Taste is very malty, with blackcurrant, hops and chocolate. A really drinkable, tasty brew. Gary__ (89), London, Greater London, England Aug 23, 2008 Updated: Aug 27, 2008This waz wicked nice dark Ale:I spent 5 minutes just crapping around sniffing the shit out of aroma and looking at the apperance like it waz an endangerd thing. This was all before even sinking this stuff. I really liked this. . Unity is cool. I loved the big arse beige head..ruby stuff. Waves of roasted malts crashing all over the glass ..giving chocoltate, burnt toast-burnt craramell..aromatic floral shit..dusty spicy bitterness. Some understated chewey malts . Woah!! evilsoc (145), Wales Aug 22, 2008 Very dark ruby. Sticky malt aroma. a little over carbonated but big flavours of sweet choc malt, liqourice and blackcurrant. just enough bitterness at the back of the palate. Id like to see beers of this style more readily available. harrisoni (5121), Ashford, Kent, England Aug 21, 2008 500ml bottle from Sainsbury. Some good chewy malts on aroma. On cask this is a real favourite of mine. Some smoke, some laid back liquorice. It is an unusual style that I must admit I like very much. It’s just got interesting flavours that you don’t get in other beers. Slight sour edge to the molasses on the end but then some more rich malt. Bit of a stunner. Fin (2179), Merton, Oxfordshire, England Aug 20, 2008 Bottle, from Sainsbury’s, Kidlington, Oxon, 20-08-08 Pours dark brown with tan head. Big on chocolate both in mouth and on nose. Lacks in bitterness, instead quite creamy cocoa smooth and easy drinking.
