Commercial Description:
Highland's most robust beer, having a very malty body with a large, roasted chocolate flavor. It is black in color with a very clean finish and a moderate hop flavor.

This is a quality brew - clean with very little to no head, robust, rotund, and large.

Pretty good stout for those that prefer them on the lighter side. Very light coffee character.

Bottle. Pitch black. Tar colored. Small tan head. Very dense lacing around the glass. Nose is oily coffee, roasted malts and dark, bittersweet chocolate. Taste is also roasted dark malts, coffee and bittersweet dark chocolate. The coffee begins to dominate this after a while. Body is medium with soft carbonation. Sort of "fizzy’ but not like BMC fizzy. Ends bitter coffee, bittersweet chocolate, maybe even bakers chocolate and roasted malts. A bit "unoriginal" but well done nonetheless!

Bottle. Quite black. Big cheap coffee nose with light malts, no shortage of woody aroma hops and a good dose of chocolate. Roasty, toasty, nutty full rich complex coffee stout. Dense but straightforward flavors like Vietnamese coffee.

bottle courtesy of jjpm74. deep black pour with a thin caramel colored head. thick roasted malts and chocolate on the nose. not as thick as i was expecting and the flavors are quite mellow in comparison to the strong scents.

Bottle courtesy of elmatador00 -- thanks!

Pours very dark with a beautiful rich-tan head. Roasty coffee aroma, a bit of molassas, pretty nice. Unfortunately there’s a fair stewed-vegetable taste to this one, and that mars an otherwise pretty nice roasty chocolately slightly smoky stout.

Dark brown to block in color. Decent looking head. A little toasty, roasty, coffee in the taste. A little bit creamy. Smell has some roastiness, a little coffe, toast.

The colour of this beer was a dark chocolate coffee colour, with a nice sized nutty aromatic head. A soft, silky, creamy-like mouthfeel. Fully carbonated in the mouth with plenty of nuts and berry flavor. Flavors of lightly roasted coffee beans, butterscotch and toffee.
