Black with creamy tan head and good lacing. Smells of warm mocha or like the inside of a Starbucks. More chocolate than coffee by far. Taste is decent but just not very special or too much above average. Palate is so watery and thin and uneventful. I want more depth and richness and creaminess. Aroma is sweet milk chocolate, roasted coffee and roasted grain bitterness. The flavor starts off with a fairly assertive grain bitterness that picks up the roasted coffee flavor over time. Bittersweet baking chocolate midway through that leads to a dry, powdery bitter finish. The body has a nice, smooth, feel with just a light touch of chewiness to it. Moderate carbonation. Smell is rich, creamy roasted coffee beans and very fresh and balanced. Taste is a touch metallic at 1st and noticeably thin bodied. Roasted malt and a medium to strong coffee flavor, but the flavor and body are just too thin, and kill this otherwise nice beer.
