Aroma is dark chocolate with light roasted notes. This was a very easy drinking beer. Flavor had the same dark chocolate as the aroma but included a sweetness not expected from the nose. There is roasted coffee that appears more during the finish. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this beer. brewblackhole (1382), Muskego, Wisconsin, USA

Very nicely balanced, almost a session type of brew gottalottaibu (243), charlotte, North Carolina, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 12, 2007 Highland Black Mocha Stout is very dark brown in color and has dense, foamy tan head that lasts pretty well. The remaining crown leaves a nice vine-like lacing pattern on the glass. The aroma is very dark chocolate with some roastiness as well. Semi-sweet choclolate and coffee are blended together in the robust, roasty, and well crafted flavor. There is a lingering coffee flavor in the finish. This beer has a medium-full body with very fine carbonation. It is actually a bit lighter the palate than one would expect a beer with this kind of flavor to have. The result is a smooth and very drinkable beer.
12 oz bottle from decaturstevo (Dec 2006). Thanks again Steve. Only one more beer from our first trade to go - the Southern Tier Jah-va Imperial Stout!
