durhambeer (378), Durham, North Carolina, USA Jul 19, 2008 Updated: Aug 12, 2008 Bottle. Bright deep hazy gold with thin head. Looks quite appealing. Lemony wheat and mild yeast on the nose, more on the palate. Nice sour promise on the nose, but ultimately more wheaty. The hibiscus notes turn me off a bit. If this were a bit more sour and had a slightly more full palate, I could really love this beer.
hombrepalo (446), Chicago, Illinois, USA Aug 20, 2008 Bottle thanks to OldStyleCubFan (summer santa). This sure is a summer beer, a refreshing wheat beer with almost no flavor. Golden orange color with fluffy head. Aroma of malts and citrus. Taste is of malts and watery rye. It is smooth with little to no carbonation. nice to have tried this beer, thanks OldStyle. hophead75 (1648), Boonton, New Jersey, USA Aug 17, 2008 12 oz bottle from Emacgee. Hazy golden in color with a small off white head. Aroma of wheat, spice and citrus. Taste is tangy wheat, some spice, citrus, with a medium body. Very light bitterness in the finish. clean and not too bad. DrBayern (923), Morehead City, North Carolina, USA Aug 15, 2008 Date: 08/15.08, 12 oz. bottle
Aroma - Light biscuit, faintly floral, hint of spice
Appearance - Cloucy gold, medium white head that is creamy, and although not very large, does last nicely, strands of persisting lace
Flavor - Fruity and light malty sweetness up front, hint of sourness and a distant spicy bitterness in the finish, although the finish is neutral
Palate - Light body, medium carbonation, fairly clean palate, but not quite dry enough for me.
Overall - Pretty decent, but not outstanding. Light, some refreshing qualities. Nice to see a new offering from Highland.
argo0 (6145), Washington DC, USA Aug 13, 2008 (12oz bottle, thanks wilkie) Cloudy golden body with small white head. Aroma is medium sweet, clove, some peach. Taste is medium sweet, peach, some wheat, light clove. Light-medium body, light acidity. nearbeer (1199), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Aug 10, 2008 12 oz. Hazy, golden pear-colored with a lasting inch of meringue. Beautiful creamy lace all over the glass. Typical wheat, spicy yeast and citrus aroma. Typical American Wheat flavor of ash, sour stomach acid, wheat and drying lemon hop. Maybe some slight banana bubblegum. Light-medium body is easy on the carbonation, watery and finishes dry.
