Appearance: Clear amber orange color with a very small, foamy, off-white head. Poor head retention.
Aroma: Toasty, malty nose with some dough notes as well.
Flavor: Earthy malt, some grain, malt sweetness, and an alcohol bite. The bitterness seemed to be a bit off on this one.
Palate: Medium carbonation with a medium mouthfeel and a medium, malty finish.
Overall: This one lacks a bit of crispness and just seems to sit there on your tongue. Everything just doesn’t quite come together with this one. Skip it in favor of better examples. possumjc (100), Charleston - Mt Pleasant, South Carolina, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 3/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | Oct 17, 2009 12 oz bottle. Pours a hazy copper color. Aroma is spicy sweet. The flavor was more bland than the aroma would indicate. There were some hops in there but really not much more. GJF (513), Cedar Rapids, Iowa, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 8, 2009 Pours a clear coppery-reddish with a decent slightly off-white head. Aroma is malty and just a little spicy, mainly cinnamon and cloves. Flavor is rather strong and malty with an undertone of cloves and cinnamon and just a hint of caramel. Smooth, tingly, fizzy texture leaves a spicy and fizzy finish. shp555 (1691), Atlanta, Georgia, USA

| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Oct 7, 2009 Bottle pours clear amber with ring of light tan head. Boring and buttery. Malty, and a bit astringent, cloying. Caramel heavy. A bit vegetal. There are some light bitter floral hops on the finish, but this is still a dissappointment. zizzybalubba (399), Elizabeth City, North Carolina, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 4, 2009 On tap at Coasters. Copper pour with a very thin white head. Aroma of light caramel malt and soap. Toffee and caramel sweetness as well as light floral hops. Slightly bitter aftertaste, although nothing unpleasant. Not really one of my favorite styles but good for what it is.
