Time to catch up before BCTC. Bottle at PilsnerPeter’s Spring Throwdown. Thank to everyone who brought great beer and ribs and pickles and everything! Amber with ring. Caramel brown sugar aroma. Toast caramel marshmallow with mild coffee bitterness. High carbo, effervescent. A little thin.

Picked this up in Athens, Georgia. Five Points Bottle Shop, 22 oz. Plus, as an added bonus it was only $2.50! Nice fluffy head that fades away to a nice thin head that sits on top of a deep dark brown translucent beer. Looks like a friggin good spice/herb/vegetable to me. Sweet aroma, but I am a bit upset that the spices don’t hit my nose harder. If this is a spice/herb/vegetable beer then I am a little confused as to where the spices are, at least, in the aroma. Anyways, a semi-sweet caramel aroma, and that is about it. Ok, now I am picking up a SLIGHT spice aroma, but nothing special. The flavor was a surprise. Very sweet sugar/malt flavor. Slight spice flavor, but really nothing special. Very big malt taste, but the spices are far too muted for me to give this a great rating. Slight bittering hop at the end, with a slight spice tingle, but not enough to save this beer. Very smooth texture.

1L swing-top bottle. Pours copper with a short tan head. Aroma is very nutty, malty, sweet (brown sugar) and chocolaty with light spices. taste is chocolate covered peanuts, creamy, sweet malts, light spices, and more brown sugar. Body is medium with a light creamy carbonation. Finishes with more nutty flavors, chocolate, spices and light hops. Tasty!

Bottle pours an off-white, sticky lacing head and the body is a beautiful clear amber. Smells of caramel, barley, some hops, and butter. Flavors abound of caramel, cocoa, toffee, little nut, and some spices. Nice body.
