Commercial Description:
A deep amber colored American ale, featuring a rich malty body. Cascade and Willamette hops add a complex hop flavor and aroma. This ale is exceptionally balanced between malty sweetness and delicate hop bitterness.

This is my go to beer in the Carolinas. A perfect session beer, completely consistent from bottle to bottle. Exceptionally well-balanced, with a great chewy malt background and subtle herbal hoppiness. Nicely done.

Bottle shared by Blake. Sweet caramelly base in the nose laced with butterscotch and floral hops. The flavor kicks in tasty grape-tasting hops finishing with green grassiness. Decent stuff.

Pours a mostly transparent dark copper with a well-lacing, clingy, cream-colored head. Aroma of semi-sweet, toasty, earthy caramel malt and a touch of grapefruity hops and light fruit esters. Body starts about average for the style with some toasted caramel sweetness and mild bittering hop presence toward a smooth, bittersweet finish. A good amber.

On tap at Brixx Pizza, Chappel Hill, NC. Pours a deep copper colour with a medium tan head. It has a kind of burnt sugar aroma to it. There is a bitter sweetness to the flavour and a hint of caramel. Finishes on a stale hoppy note. Unfortunately, there’s nothing to really interest me here.

Pours a clear, pure amber body. A small, frothy, light cream colored head crowns the top and shows pretty good retention. Minimal, sudsy lacing mostly rejoins the body. The aroma is very toasty, showing alot of caramel and toasted grains, with ample floral hops and a drop of honey. The flavor is again very toasty. As expected, caramel takes top billing, though its sweetness is balanced fairly well by peppery floral hops. The mouthfeel is pretty weak and watery, and leads into a fairly astringent, acrid finish. This brew is pretty boring, and lacking on alot of levels.

12 oz. bottle from Suttree. Pour is clear reddish copper with visible carbonation and a one inch tan head. Aroma of hay and malt. Taste is pretty metallic before revealing a semi-sweet biscuit maltiness and a grassy hop finish. This one didn’t taste put together to well, pretty sharp transitions between the flavors. Thanks Phil!
