It has an average level of visible carbonation. There is caramel malt in the aroma and flavor and some weak hop flavor and bitterness in the finish. The body is average with a moderate level carbonation. Overall this beer is moderately sweet, well balaned, and easy to drink. It is a decent Amber Ale, but fairly typical of the style without really being unique or memorable.

| 1.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 3/5 | 2/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Mar 19, 2007 Not much aroma at all. I didn’t get any of the American hops they talk of. Flavor was oxidized. Didn’t like it much at all. Maybe my bottle was old and bad. Hopefully will rerate soon. swoopjones (1915), Buffalo, New York, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 18, 2007 Deep amber pour with a nice frothy head.... leaves decent uniform lace. I note some pale malts/Crystal... this, backed with a biscuit finish and dry bitters, make for a hollow mouthfeel until the brew starts to warm. My first read says that this isn’t extremely complex, but it does open up a bit as the temp rises. A tad better than the average offering, but not by much. Lumpy (1802), Carrollton, Texas, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 11, 2007 Bottle. Deep almandine body with a medium ring of bubbles and a very patchy thin film of bubbles. Nose-powdery, wood, dusty floor, husky. Taste-sharp CO2, nutty, chocolate powder on the finish, almonds, light Tootsie Rolls, dust from a straw broom, dry, seltzer water. A very well done basic amber ale.
