Smell is somewhat weak, but I do notice a very slight hint of some citrus and earth tones to this one, but weak. I do notice a nice matly smell in there as well. Taste is sweet, a note of some hops and some caramel, but again, weak at best. CelticBrew (707), The Crystal Coast, North Carolina, USA

Yummy, caramel with malt swetness finishing with a hopness that is balanced. A unique beer. Drinkable and sessionable, however, not a superstar, per se’. Good job Highland! | 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Nov 17, 2006 A less than average amber ale, which to me is probably one of my least favorite styles. This was rather a bit of a disappointment with a caramel nose, with a very bready taste. It also had this weird slightly acidic character which was rather odd. Decent looking in the glass with a nice dark amber color and a nice foamy top. sliffy (2012), Columbus, Ohio, USA

She really enjoyed this and wanted me to try it. The body was dark orange with a khaki colored head. The aroma was chocolate with oranges and some caramel. The taste was caramel with some oranges and toast. There were peanuts in the finish. A solid amber.
