Dec 7, 2006 Bottle from santa: Pours a dark amber color with a very nice, slightly off white head. Smell is somewhat weak, but I do notice a very slight hint of some citrus and earth tones to this one, but weak. I do notice a nice matly smell in there as well. Taste is sweet, a note of some hops and some caramel, but again, weak at best.

Nov 29, 2006 Pours medium dark amber with a beige foam head. Aroma of malts, sugars and some hops. Yummy, caramel with malt swetness finishing with a hopness that is balanced. A unique beer. Drinkable and sessionable, however, not a superstar, per se’. Good job Highland!

Nov 22, 2006 Draught at Mellow Mushroom. Yellow pour with good head that died fast. Sweet but very light aroma, some hops. Pretty light flavor as well. Not too impressed.

Nov 19, 2006 Bottle. Deep amber colour. Aromas is sweet, with notes of caramel, and subtle hop notes. Flavour is malty, with caramel and butterscotch, with some light fruity hops towards the end. Quite smooth and soft. lacks a bit of bite.

Nov 17, 2006 A less than average amber ale, which to me is probably one of my least favorite styles. This was rather a bit of a disappointment with a caramel nose, with a very bready taste. It also had this weird slightly acidic character which was rather odd. Decent looking in the glass with a nice dark amber color and a nice foamy top.

Nov 15, 2006 Bottle: Red/brown pour with an off white head. Aroma, malty, caramel, yeast, some fruits. Flavor, fruity, citrus, a bit bready. Kinda dry on the finish. Solid brew.

Nov 9, 2006 Thanks to my mom for getting this while in NC. She really enjoyed this and wanted me to try it. The body was dark orange with a khaki colored head. The aroma was chocolate with oranges and some caramel. The taste was caramel with some oranges and toast. There were peanuts in the finish. A solid amber.
