Aug 6, 2009 Colour is a tawny brawny tan with bronze whiskey highlights. Toffe, taffy, smoked candy on the nose. Malty hearty mouthfeel accented by distinguished Scotch flavours and a nice wheat tone. Well done.

Aug 4, 2009 12oz. bottle. Pours dark amber with a small off-white head. Aroma is piney hops. Flavor is caramel malts up front and piney hops on the finish. Some molasses, brown sugar, and spice as well. Mouthfeel is creamy with medium carbonation. This one got MUCH better as it warmed. When cold, it was quite dull and 1-dimensional, but came to life as it warmed in the glass.

Aug 4, 2009 Pours a slightly hazy red color with a nice medium head. Aroma is mainly caramel and some floral notes with a bit of grassy hops. Flavor is very similar to the aroma, plenty of caramel, and plenty of hop bitterness. This is good enough but besides a bit more bitterness, nothing really sets it apart from the 15,421 amber ales out there.

Jul 30, 2009 this was a good amber ale. it was markedly different from others, with a good hoppy profile, and a crispness. It did not have a bad aftertaste.

Jul 27, 2009 Pours copper with gold edges and weak tan head. The aroma has sweet malts and earthiness to go along with citrus and dark fruity esters. The taste has a pleasing balance of malty goodness, citrus hops, spicy hops, earthiness and dark fruity esters. A thin layer of molasses surfaces into the finish. The flavor isn’t seamless but tasty leaving lingering hop bitterness into the after taste.

Jun 30, 2009 Bottle from Whole Foods in Greenville, NC. Light malts, with some sweetness. Light hops with not much bitterness at all. Very quick finish with no aftertaste. Simple beer.
