Commercial Description:
A deep amber colored American ale, featuring a rich malty body. Cascade and Willamette hops add a complex hop flavor and aroma. This ale is exceptionally balanced between malty sweetness and delicate hop bitterness.

Bottle Pours a clear redish amber with a very modest off white head. Subtel slightly roasted malt aroma and little in thy of hops is evident. Pleasant woody malt flavor, still very little hops. Moderate palate and fairly fizzy. lacking any real bitterness and while plain and unexciting, a nice easy drinking brew. Wish I could say as good for the picture on this page.

I like this beer a lot. It’s nice to look at, smooth, good balance between malt and hops, and highly drinkable.

Poured from bottle into shaker glass. Deep amber/ red color with a small tan head that almost completely diminishes. Decent lacing on the glass. Hop aroma pervasive throughout the nosing. Medium body with a pleasant lingering hop finish. Not bad, but Highland makes other better beers than this.

A really nice amber. Poured in a chilled glass by the idiot Mellow Mushroom crew, but very tasty. Good malt with some interesting spice that I can’t put my finger on.

Dark amber color with a decent tawny head. Taste is a little musky coffee with some definite caramels. I enjoy a good amber, but would recommend the Oatmeal Porter over this beer

Hazy amber colour. Caramelly, earthy aroma with light esters. Chewy caramel malts. That’s about it, really. Fairly earthy but really simple beer.

(Draught) Pours a deep amber body with a moderate off-white head. Aroma of caramel and mild hops. Flavor of malt, caramel, and mild hops.

Light coffee odor, sweet nutty taste, mild but good hops, finishes quickly with a light bitter aftertaste. Good palate, slick. Not much head, but a nice reddish color. A good six-pack beer, I’d say.
