Commercial Description:
A deep amber colored American ale, featuring a rich malty body. Cascade and Willamette hops add a complex hop flavor and aroma. This ale is exceptionally balanced between malty sweetness and delicate hop bitterness.

Poured dark amber with a fizzy huge tan head that settled down nicely with good lacing. I got fruit in the nose, maybe raisins and some pine-hops, sweet malty backbone. There was a bitter dry hopiness, and some other flavors. Mouth feel was light, but this was different and very nice. Thanks to suttree.

12 oz Bottle: Dark copper color and slightly hazy. Slight sweet malt aroma noticed with a thin white head when poured. At first taste it was suprisingly bitter wih an almost nutty/fruity hops taste then leaning more toward a spicy malt flavor. It finishes very well with a above medium amount of carbonation makes it slightly crisp. The further into the glass I get the better it is. Overall I found it to be a good beer and very refreshing. Glad that I can purchase this at the store locally!

I enjoyed this beer greatly. Again anything from this brewing company is heavy and flavorful. A truly good beer.

12 oz. bottle into Duvel tulip. Obtained in the 2004 Secret Santa from Suttree. Imagine the smell of an afternoon walk on the western Irish countrysides, as the farmers cut the peat and the sod and freshly baked bread wafts from the window of your dirt-walled hutment. Now imagine that scaled back about 80% and emanating from a beer glass. In otherwords, the aroma of this beer is like the pale shade of some earthy dopeness that died long ago. Amber orange and mostly clear in the glass with not much beige head. Hops and malt are well-balanced in the flavor, as advertised, but the hop character is weird. Oxidized? Some mutant variety? Who can say? It’s biting morphing into tangy, but in a way I’ve never experienced. Medium to full body. Gets metallic in the finish. Blah.

Had this on tap. Copper color with a thin head. Moderate carbonation. Mildly sweet, malty aroma and flavor with caramel overtones. Not much hop flavor or bitterness.

22oz bomber - Via trade with Bluedevil0206 - Thanks James - When I first got this I wondered who puts an amber ale in 22oz bombers? Pours deep amber in color with a healthy creamy offwhite head. Aroma is a nice mix of cascade hops and caramel malts but the hops seem to dominate the aroma. Flavor is more malty but well balanced with the bitterness of the hops. On the palate this is smooth and very balanced. After drinking one and seeing how easy it was to drink I know now why they put it in bombers.

Very pleasantly surprised. Not sure why, but the gaelic bit had me worried. thought it might wind uop some odd, sweet mix and match of flavors. Nice, full and lasting head, sweet, full malt body and very good bittering. Not making me jump out of my sox, but definitely putting a smile on my face as it quickly disappears.

On tap at a wedding reception and a ballpark on back to back nights!! Pours a nice red copper color with no head. Nice malty smell and taste.
