Pours a dark brown with tan head. Aroma of milk chocolate, dark fruit, roast, booze. Similar taste. Liked this one a tad more than the regular mocha stout.

Dec 9, 2009 Pours solid black with a thick frothy brown head. Aroma of dark fruit, chocolate, and vanilla. Taste is medium bitter with thick malt chewiness. Finishes bitter like cocoa. Medium body and smooth carbonation.

Nov 30, 2009 I’m a little disappointed in this one. I’m a fan of the regular stout and pretty much anything else this brewery makes, and to be honest, this isn’t a bad beer. I was just hoping for more. There’s the sticky sweetness common of imperial stouts, but it’s just not balanced out with aggressive roasted malts and hops. Maybe it’s just like my homebrew imperial stout and needs aging to really develop the complexity to fill out the flavor, but even then there are no signs of hops.

This is a black pour with a brown head. It has a nice creamy mouthfeel and a dark chocolate & coffee flavor. Very tasty.

Nov 15, 2009 2008 22oz bottle - pours a black color with a foamy brown head. Aroma of chocolate, malt, licorice and coffee. Nice taste that has chocolate, coffee, licorice, molasses and roasted malt flavors. The alcohol is well hidden but is certainly present - this is a nice tasting Imperial Stout that was a perfect brew for a football Sunday.

Nov 4, 2009 22oz bottle, Vintage 2008. Very black. Loads of roast in the aroma. Nice notes of coffee, licorice, and cocoa. This bottle has aged perfectly. I loved it. Flavor has a deep roast, lots of chocolate, licorice, and coffee. Smooth. ABV is well hidden. Very nice roast throughout the beer, finishes with a nice fruit essence from the yeast. Wonderful.

Nov 3, 2009 Coffee, licorice and a meaty component in the nose that almost reminds of canned catfood?! Flavor is roasty with coffee but also alot of diacetyl and then alot of astringent burnt grain at the finish, along with a hot alcohol burn.

Nov 2, 2009 Very dark brown pour. Smells of alcohol, dark malts and bittering chocolate. Sharp chocolate aroma as well. Taste is creamy, dark chocolate bitter. Roasted notes come through as well. Nice.
