Commercial Description:
An aggressively hopped and higher gravity version of our Kashmir IPA. Five different hop varieties added at seven different times in the brew kettle, hopback, whirlpool and fermenter add to its complexity. This Imperial IPA also differs from our traditional Kashmir IPA with the addition of over fifty pounds of dry hops, adding a spicy nose. Over two hundred pounds of hops were used in this limited fifty barrel batch. The robust, malty and complex hop flavors and aromas are best enjoyed with an extremely stiff upper lip.

22 oz bottle split between three people. Color was ruddy orange with a good soapy head. The smell was intense hops but not pine or citrus. the taste was very hoppy with some tropical fruit flavors but not quite a West Coast. The only complaint I had with this beer was the astringency on my tongue. it got worse as I got to the bottom of my glass. Still, nice to be able to try this one. Pours an opaque mahogany copper with a thin cream colored head. Nose is overly sweet pineapple juice and caramel. The flavor is a bit better balanced with some earthy, dry hops. Still on the sweet side though, with a smooth mouthfeel.

Bottle thanks to roborb
Pours bright orange, foamy white head. Very sweet nose of caramel, orange, and cookies, some minor pine. Flavor has lots of caramel, some citrus and bitterness, but again, very sweet. Thick body, sticky and not very refreshing. A malt bomb at this stage, and though still decent, there are many better examples.

Bottle shared at local BA tasting. Poured a clear copper color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy tart citrus and earthy aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. My expectations where met.

Bottle. Strong floral hops aroma. Slightly hazy orange amber body, off-white head. Flavor is piney and earthy, powerful, with some background citrus. Lots of spicy bitterness. Very different from the usual grapefruit-dominant IPA.

Bomber thanks to tronranrer. Pours a nice clear copper color with a big and thick white head. A very nice nose with loads of hops, sweet and citrus-like. A very nice sweet hop burst, citrus and some caramel malts. A bit of alcohol and a really nice creamy head. Sweet and juicy. I’m glad to have gotten to try this brew.

22oz Bottle. A bit of aged hop, bright clementine citrus, and fragrant jasmine flower. Bright, hoppy and grassy. Not too much pine. Pours a slightly clouded amber-orange, with a slick rim in white. Grassy, piney and rich with resins, pitch and juniper. Nice spicy hop character over a decent toasty malt touch. Maybe a little wet with sugar. There is some dusty old lemon as old hops, but nothing cheesy and dead. Overall, this a very respectable high gravity IPA, with a little age on it. Thanks Piper!
