My Bottom Line:
The boastful perfume of sweet flowers burgeons within the biscuity cereal sweetness of this balanced and powerful Double IPA.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam tops the cardinal-hued amber.
-The hoppiness is quite complex, twisting into spicy and leafy profiles before settling back into its floral perfume.
-Malts build a chewy body which aptly sustains the intense flavor display.
-The finish could be drier to increase drinkability.
-Caramel leeks from the residual sugars.

Aug 28, 2008 22 oz bomber from Brawley’s in Charlotte. I loved this beer. Poured into a tulip glass. Poured a slightly hazy gold/orange color with a medium off white head. Aroma is citrusy hops as the beer warms. Flavor was well balanced for an IIPA. Sweet malt dominates at first, which gives way to floral and piney hops. Medium/full bodied with excellent carbonation. Great beer. Wish I had purchased more than two.

Aug 19, 2008 2008-08-16. Hazy orange body with a modest creamy beige head. (3+) Aroma is a touch muted at first but some nice citrusy hops comes otf after a bit. Touches of tea like herbal notes. (7+) Sweetish malt core in the flavour with touches of caramel, light resin and herbal hops, light bitterness. (7+) Smooth medium bodied palate. (3+) Bottle, Coles IPA Festival, Buffalo

Jun 20, 2008 Chill haze is readily noticeable right out of the fridge, but it does dissipate. The head is full and creamy (egg foam) and a little more white than is usual for a beer of this size. It disguises it’s 10.2 abv well. It could have easily turned into a barleywine at this strength, but instead tastes more like a strong IPA. I have to say it’s a little less hoppy than expected, but it’s an excellent beer.

Jun 14, 2008 22 oz bottle, 2007 Vintage, via BA kkipple. Pours a hazy dark orange body with a fizzy and foamy beige head that left some moderate lacing. Light visible carbonation. The nose is pretty well balanced, piney hops with lots of sweet caramel maltiness. Light hints of alcohol. The flavor seems like maybe this has gotten a little long in the tooth. The hops are sufficiently bitter but there’s no brightness at all. The malt is slightly sweet with lots of toffee, but also some oxidation creeping in. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation and just a bit of stickiness. Overall, this was just a little too dulled to be good. Sometimes an aged IIPA can be beautifu. but not this one.

Apr 23, 2008 Bottle 11$ Bruisin’ ales Ashville. Pours a foggy orange with a fine off white head. aroma is sweet and fruity with a load of hops. Flavor is sweet and rich with notes of caramel. Very hoppy and citrus. I saved mine for a while and I think it payed off. The body was full, i wasn’t expecting it. I had a glass of this and sampled it comparing to the regular Kashimir and they have simularities, bu this beer totally blows the other one out the the water.
