The appearance is hazy gold with an average head. The flavor is like the aroma except its astringent. The palate is smooth. Overall it’s interesting but it’s not a good IPA. Its bitter in a soapy way. KingpinIPA (842), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA

(3+) Pleasant hoppy aroma, light citrus and mild resin. Similarly pleasant hops in the flavour, muted resin, light citrus hints. (6+) Smooth average palate. (3+) Pretty nice, but strikes me as probably having a little more oomph to the hops when fresher or on tap. Bottle shared by Jon Walker

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 4, 2008 Color is a typical but appetizing coppery amber, somewhat cloudy. Aroma is rich and strongly hoppy with a malty undertone. Flavor is rich and very hoppy but not too bitter - very satisfying. This is one sassy and jazzy IPA, not superb but definitely worth a try if you like hoppy beers.
