May 27, 2007 Draft; aroma of pine, citrus and caramel malts. Pretty good, but have had better smells from that combination. Flavor was mainly of citrus hops and malt. For the style it was a little above average.

May 26, 2007 Bottle courtesy of OldGrowth. Golden pour. Sturdy off-white to gold colored head. Aroma is piney and citrusy with soft sweet malts and a hint of flowers. Taste is more citrus peel, spicy hops, soft pine, and lighter malt notes. The hops are clearly dominant in this one. Medium feel wih a creamy, but smooth, and dense carbonation. Finishes with a stronger bitterness. Lots of spicy hops, citrus peel, citrus oils and pine. Soft malts reside here as well. Not bad!

May 18, 2007 Poured the typical golden amber color with small head and no lacing. Aroma was also typical pine citrus. Flavor was pine and citrus hops and malt kinda overwelmed this one for an ipa that is. average IPA.

May 17, 2007 Bottle courtesy, Shag/Clash. Poured an amber color, thin initial head, weak lacing, really not an impressive pour for the style. The aroma was piney-citrus, nothing to stand out. Flavor followed, pretty much a ho-hum IPA, nothing bad, nothing great. Resin, citrus, some grainy texture to it all. Too balanced for an IPA, not enough showy hops. Thanks, Matt!

May 6, 2007 I am the first to admit I rate IPAs high, but I have to say this one was a little too harsh for my taste. How many IBUs does this beer have. Overall good, but it is not for the faint of heart.

May 4, 2007 draft. golden amber’ish with slight flowery aroma. small head with sticky lacing. small citrus tang in the front with a bit of astringincy (sp?) and very little bitterness at the end. enjoyable and sessionable but nothing to really make this memorable. one of the more modest highland offerings.

Apr 29, 2007 Draft pint at the Flying Saucer, Raleigh. Dark red with an adhesive head. I don’t get much of an aroma, but this is a viscuous goodie ... richly malty, slightly tangy but not overwhelming fruity. This is a caged beast, but if you’re a hophead looking for some flowering NW hops, I think the St Terese’s is better. (#2829, 4/27/2007)

Apr 20, 2007 (bottle) medium-light amber with small white head. Somewhat faint hops aroma (it was served ice cold, which may have contributed). Flavor was grassy hops.
