12 oz bottle acquired as an extra in a trade. Light copper pour, very small white head but big carbonation bubbles. Aroma is decent as far as caramel malts go, but the citrus and pine hops detected are extremely faint. Same thing on the flavor, the hops kind of melt into the malt and leave an unbalanced beer but not in the direction that my west coast ass is accustomed to. Not a bad beer, but not one I’ll need to get back to anytime soon.

( 12oz bottle thanks to ballewblake) Pours opaque yellow with big oily bubbles and great lacing. Nose is spicy hops, herbal, corn, pine and spices. Taste follows the nose with cinnamon, sweet hops, bitter oils and a very dry finish

Golden colored ale with a frothy white head and good lace in the glass. A light lemon and wheat aroma more like a hefeweiesen than an IPA. The distinct smell of hops is not really present in the aroma. While I don’t really sniff the hops I can definitely taste them. A powerful but floral hops flavor carries this beer on your tongue making for a light IPA. The palate is bubbly and refreshing. A great American new school example of a sometimes stogy European staple.

Pours pale golden amber color with white head and lacing ... not overly hoppy and not even malty taste but a nice dry bite at the end its decent but not great a shame highland has some good brews but they gotta work on this one

Rather subdued hops for the style in aroma (perhaps no dry hopping?) and in the flavor. The hops do blend well with the malt flavors, though, and are balanced.

Bottle. Pours a cleqar copper with a tiny offwhite head. Aroma of toffee, pine. Nice flavor. Caramel, hint of alc, biscuity malts, fruit. Not bad

12 oz botle courtesy of either TheEpeeist or GAManiac. I honestly do not remember! Pours a glowing orange gold hue, hazy and luminescent, moderate white head that is meriangesque, laces fairly well. Aromas are caramal malts, floral hops, slight citrus. Not as hoppy as advertised, a bit caramel forward with faded citrus and florals coming in behind. Initial is a bit more lively, caramel and pale malt sweetness up front, moving through citrus, a touch of grapefruit, and florals. Decent bitterness on the backend helps to balance the malty front. Unusual to find an IPA without an assertive bitterness up front. A bit doughy, grassy and floral bitterness with slight piney resin towards the very end. Light bitterness, sweetness stick to the palate. An ok IPA.

Pours a bright hazy golden color with a small tight head that leaves a little lace. Caramel and citrusy hops in the nose, just a little grassy. Flavor seems a little boozy up front, I’m surprised this is sitting at 5.6, some nice dryness balanced by some melon-y sweetness, some good bitter hoppiness, everything seems like it should be balanced but this seems a tad messy and a bit thin. Still pretty tasty, just not really knocking my socks off.
