Bottle is brow. Label is really nice quality. Has a good texture to it. Perhaps that’s the graphic designer coming out in me. Pours a typical crisp IPA. Nice head with ample lacing. Nose is slightly floral and a little brisk, with a lot of malt. Uh oh! This is supposed to be an IPA I thought..Taste is well, strangely satisfying. A good amount of hops, though not a lot, and an excellent balance of malts. The two seem to battle it out "Highlands" style on my palate. Interesting to see so much malt in an IPA but definitely not a bad thing. Certainly different. Some roasted bits about it and finishes off well with a decent carbonated feeling. neat.

Had on draft. Poured a light orange color and arrived with a small white head. A smell of caramel and malt, followed by tasting of strong hop bitterness with a strong malt backbone. Not as hoppy as I would expect from an IPA, but a very solid beer.

Bottle Pours a clear copper with a thin white head. The head has average staying power and laces okay. Has A sweet aroma of malts with just small hints of hops. Has a decent carbonation. The flavor is tasty but not as hoppy as I would have liked. Very refreshing and has a wseet beginning with a bitter kick. Has a medium body. A decnt finish with a nice aftertaste.

Review date 6/30/2009... I’m finally getting to pouring this 12 oz. of Asheville goodness into a Duvel tulip... Pours a nice honey-straw color with a light pffft of the cap. Head is rather tight - just a thin layer of wisps up top. Can see a decent amount of carbonation and movement. Slight lacing isn’t too bad. Very clean scent - a little caramel malt and maybe just a tinge of floral hops but it’s extremely light. Not unpleasant - just very calm and quiet. Maybe a little bit of silage in there, too. A little strawy - gets a little Belgian IPA kick after a while with some raw grains The hoppiness comes out a little bit more here - somewhat floral and nicely balanced with subtle caramel malt. Nothing exotic - just a decent, straightforward IPA. Crisp, dry finish. With some warmth I am enjoying this even more. Don’t judge this book by its cover...it may not elicit a lot of emotion on its looks or scent but for a decent, solid IPA it’s not bad at all. Drinks nicely - very clean...again, quite dry (a good thing)...and no real aftertaste. It’s been in the fridge for a month but doesn’t show any age. Solid. Well, hell, I know what I’m drinking in session the next time I’m around Asheville. This must be very good out of the tap, too. Doesn’t come out of the gates quickly but it’s a marathon, not a sprint.

12 oz bottle from swoopjones. pours what should have been clear orange but its showing signs of breakdown. aromas of old pale malts and faded hopping. the flavours are the same. like a light barley wine. its held up really well and is still nice to drink. id like to try it fresh in the future. thx for the bottle mike!

Tap at Deluxe Grill and Tap in Chattanooga, TN. The body was dark amber with a light white head. The aroma was malty almonds with some bread crust. There was also some oranges. The taste was bitter bread crust with some almonds. Decent.

12oz bottle from total wine in greenville. pours a very nice, slightly cloudy, orange gold with a thin, white head a solid lacing. aroma is decent with predominantly citrus notes of orange, lemon peel, and grapefruit with a hint of flroal hops backed by toasted malt and spice. flavor is solid as well with citrus hop notes dominating and notes of dry, pale malt, biscuits, caramel, and earthy spice. palate is fairly light and easy to drink with a mild, citrus hop finish. overall, a decent session IPA.
