Commercial Description:
A unique Highland creation, this robust beer is black in color, very malty with hints of chocolate-roasted flavor and a well balanced hop character.

Serving: 12 oz. bottle. Appearance: Very deep brown color with a foamy, light tan head. Good head retention. Aroma: Earthy, roasty nose with a hint of dark stone fruit and coffee. Flavor: Bitter, dark roasted notes with slight burnt notes dominate at first. A little malt sweetness and a hint of bittersweet chocolate lurk as well. Well done! Palate: Medium carbonation with a medium-rich mouthfeel and a medium-long, roasty finish. Overall: Pretty close to a stout if you ask me. Altogether sessionable and worth seeking out. A tasty brew.

Bottle courtesy of bleeng. Gorgeous pour. Pretty dark brown color. Some amounts of hops on the pour but ok. Taste has bland flavors. Eveness but is decent.

Rich brown and pours with thick lacy head that persists. Immediate bittersweet notes on nose that tend to mellow after few minutes. Roasted malt underpinned by hint of bitter chocolate. Surprisingly thin, but pleasant. Very sessionable. Overall very enjoyable.

Deep brown with a frothy beige head. Roasted malts, molasses, chocolate, and biscuit. Body was a tad thin. Nice flavor on this one. Lightly sour caramel malts, a touch of oats, and some nice hops round this one out. Very drinkable porter that I could down a few of in a sitting.

Different combination but I dig it. Easy drinker. Good balance between sweet, roasty then a hoppy finish. Maybe a tad thin palate and a little dry to boot but most brews w/ oatmeal tend to be that way, or so I’ve found.

12 oz. bottle - clear, dark brown pour with thin tan head; pleasant aromas of chocolate, roasted oats, cookies and rich malt; texture is creamy and slightly fizzy in the mouth; dry, roasted malt finish; plenty of sweetness in this one and different than most porters out there; downed a few of these with some fish and chips for a great meal

Thanks to zizzybalubba for this! Pour is dark brown with a very thin ring of tan head. Aromas of chocolate, vanilla, brown sugar. Very full aroma more like imperial strength. Extra points for that. Flavor is very smooth on the palate, with a very nice smoky note on the finish. Extremely well made porter here.

Bottle poured a clear dark brown with a small lingering tan head. Aromas of bitter chocolate, earthiness, light charcoal and light carmel. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of earthiness, dark chocolate, light roastiness and a hint of vanilla with a smooth dry malty finish.
