Commercial Description:
A unique Highland creation, this robust beer is black in color, very malty with hints of chocolate-roasted flavor and a well balanced hop character.

Bottle from Suttree. Thanks, Phil!
Pours a beautiful onyx with a lingering head of creamed coffee. Aroma of chocolate and oats, with a touch of caramel. Flavor is a nice touch of chocolate, oat, and a slight finish of raisin. Leaves a coffee-like film on the tongue. Very enjoyable. I’d drink this again.

sweet malty oatmeal chocolate aromas which is well matched with the flavor. I would say that this one is just ok

Brown to black in color with a tan colored head. Oatmeal, malts, toasty, and caramel in the smell. Taste is somewhat the same as the smells. Lacking in my opinion.

Courtesy beerlando. Poured a dark brown body almost black with a thin tan head that dissipates quickly. The aroma is of dark chocolate malts, caramel, some roast and touch of smoke. The flavors are much the same with the chocolate malts and caramel coming through with some nice roastiness as well. Toasted oatmeal makes it presence felt as well by adding smoothness and calming the roasty flavors. Medium bodied mouthfeel with a touch of carbonation that finishes nice and roasty. The body is a little thin for the style, but it is nice and smooth and goes down really easy. A very nice session porter here that I would drink again.

Bottle I think courtesy of hellbilly. Decent oatmeal aroma and normal swetness on the nose. Black body with dark tan head. Flavor was average sweet porter with a mild bitterness and semed to have lost it’s zip. Guess I expected some oatmeal flavor. Thanks.

Pours a clear, but very dark brown color with a medium layer of very quickly dissapating tanish head. Aroma reminds me of a mocha starbucks coffee and some brown sugar. Mouthfeel is medium and slightly creamy. Taste very roasty and coffeeish with slight sweetness and sharp dry bitter finish. Overall, very nice.

From bottle. Mild coffee ground and vegetal aroma, with light carbonic gaseousness and some lactose sweetness. Some DMS, as well, and an odd grainy dry dog food smell. Dark black-brown clear with thin off-white head. Medium watery body with medium carbonation. Starts with some good malty sweetness, molasses and some licorice, with mild coffee bitterness and light lactose sweetness. Fairly smooth throughout with a medium roasted bitter finish and mild sweet after. The aroma is just bad, though.

(USA) This brew was Coutesy of the Capt, for the Devonshire tasting!!! Nice brown color with sm-tan head. Slight chocolate / oatmeal aroma with a malty sugar / caramel taste. But mild for a porter !!!
