Bottle poured into a tulip glass produced a fingers worth of head that turned to a thin lace that floated across its jet black body
Aromas of roasted malts chocolate and coffee fill your nose
Flavors of malt, burnt coffee, oatmeal and a light bitter
Medium mouthfeel light carbonation
Another good porter, nicely balanced very drinkable

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 17/20 | Mar 3, 2008 Pretty solid porter, aroma was a bit funky, but it tasted a lot better. Not really strong with the flavor, but a consistent roated oat taste throughout. It is a smooth beer and easy to drink. A little watery on the palate, but that is to be expected with a porter. Good Beer. jhumphries69 (730), Tyrone, Georgia, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 23, 2008 On tap at TAP in mid-town Atlanta. Poured a very dark brown/black (too dark in the bar to see if it was opaque black or not) with a thin, tan head. The aroma was a little hoppy (though less hoppy than I remember from the last time I bought this in the bottle) with some chocolate notes, and a decent bit of molasses. The flavor was dry and roasty - but like chocolate, not quite coffee. There were some spicy hops up front, too. At mid-palate the spicy hops are replaced by a firm bitterness and a touch of residual sweetness lending a semisweet chocolate note to the beer’s roasty aspect. The finish was dry with a nice blend of hop bitterness and roasted grain. The mouthfeel felt full in body, but was creamy and nicely carbonated (on the low side perhaps, but not atypical for porters and stouts). Overall, a very nice porter. pineypower (1104), Pine Barrens, New Jersey, USA

Aroma is of chocolate, roasted malts and a slight grainy sweetness. Flavor is roasted malt, chocolate, slight sweetness from the oatmeal. Not bad.. Immy (1912), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA

Rich, chocolaty nose, roasty, a bit of coffee. Roasty malt flavor, chocolate and coffee. Mild coffee bitter finish. Body a tad thin, but a very drinkable brew. redlight (1496), Winter Park, Florida, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Feb 13, 2008 Sweet coffee aromas, some chocolate malts, slightly resiny. Pours dark brown reddish on the outsides with a thin tan head that does not last. Smooth, there is low carbonation which is nice for the style. Some roasted malts and chocolate upfront, surprisingly hoppy. Not bad, easy to drink! crizay (1050), Brook Park (was Tampa,FL), Ohio, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 10, 2008 Black pour with tiny beige head that fades to nothing. Aroma is lightly roasty and hoppy. Flavor is roasted malts, some chocolate and a hoppy finish. Thin bodied and low on carbonation really making this a pretty weak beer. Not a whole lot going on to describe.
