The finish was clean. dolemite77 (184), Maryville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Feb 5, 2008 Tap at the brewery... Dark roasty malt... Very good looking beer, with quite a bit of character. I do like oatmeal porters, and this one is a good one. jasonm (22), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 31, 2008 Dark brown, with ruby red hue when held up to the light. Its topped with densely packed foam of tan bubbles, looks like the top of a latte. A nice, simple straight forward roasty aroma, with chocolate and dry oatmeal. The taste is similar to the aroma, but dialed up a little more. Nice roastiness again, some bitter coffee to go along with the bittersweet chocolate. A hint of toffee and a slight alkali note, leading to a bitter finish of roasted malt and hops. The body is nice and light, nearly spot on for a porter. Just a tad harsh on the carbonation. Overall, a well put together Porter from the folks at Highland. Drinks smooth and easy and delivers solid flavor. BlackDonald (1127), Boise, Idaho, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 24, 2008 This is a really easy to drink beer, but could use a little more structure. Sufficient caramel maltiness with lots of chocolate mocha roastiness. This is a wonderful food beer. jrob21 (1275), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 20, 2008 I’ve probably had this one about 15 times and am now just getting around to rating it. On tap at the brickstore this time but had it in the bottle plenty of times. Slight roasted malt aroma. Grainy roasted coffee, and chocolate flavors. More full bodied and complex than most porters I’ve experienced. Smooth texture and leaves a taste of dark chocolate in your mouth. fishingnet (1047), Brandon, Florida, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 20, 2008 Bottle. Pours dark brown with ruby highlights and a small tan ring of a head with minimal lacing. Aroma of sweet caramel and oats with notes of roasted malt. Taste is the same as aroma. Medium full creamy mouthfeel with a mild amount of bitterness. Very good. Gachupines (295), USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 15, 2008 Dark brown with a tan head. Aroma is roasted coffee. Taste is roasted coffee as well with a fairly decent hop presence. Slightly thinner mouthfeel than other porters, which makes this easy to drink, but I tend to prefer them somewhat more robust. Despite that, great tasting beer, and the low abv makes it a great session beer. ChetLemmons (87), orlando, Florida, USA
