It’s a nice, solid porter with the desired chocolate malts. But there’s not quite enough of the fullness of body and character I want in an oatmeal brew. The slightly thin mouthfeel and insufficiently complex taste docks the score. Good quaffer for the cold months, though. stegosaurus (1882), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 4, 2007 Deep dark brown with a little amber rays of light shining through. Nice fluffy off white head sits on top of the galss. Roasted malt, chocolate, coffee on the aroma. Medium body with no lingering flavor. Flavors of mocha and roasted malts. Pretty HOP overall. wcampbell (584), Central, South Carolina, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 3, 2007 Lightly carbonated, easily drinkable porter. Lighter bodied and thinner than some other porters. Coffee and oatmeal flavors dominate the taste. Lightly bitter and dry aftertaste. MadIndian (997), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA

You can taste the oatmeal slightly. A little thin for my taste but not bad. HighlanderOne (547), Somewherein, New Jersey, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 2, 2007 Poured from bottle. Aroma of coffee, brown sugar and burning wood. Smoother and not as oily as most porters, more complex in flavor. The oatmeal gives it a smoothness with the porter feel in the aftertaste. Nice choco noter as well. I really liked this one. kp (8600), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

ultra smooth chocolate flavor, solid lace (nitro?), amazing velvet character, light chocolate flavor, could be a great winter session beer, upgraded from 2 to 3 rating on body alone, better in the sample size, or is it warmth?
