Commercial Description:
A unique Highland creation, this robust beer is black in color, very malty with hints of chocolate-roasted flavor and a well balanced hop character.

Aquired from Suttree in a recent trade. Dark brown pour with a small but lasting light tan head. Aroma is pretty mild. Light malts, cola, maybe a touch of smoke, hops. Flavor and body is thin but still quite good. The bitter hops come out more as well as some sour malts and nutty hints.

Courtesy of Degarth. Pours brown with tan head. The aroma is sweet thin molasses, hints of coffee and caramel. Not really all that Porter like. Nice malty flavors like roasted malts, a hint of sweeter malts, coffee, an oatmeal twang, hints of caramel, light astringency and not much in the way of classic Porter burnt malts.

Nice opaque, just shy of black pour. Deepest ruby hues when held to the light. A 3-finger frothy brown head sits afloat, but diminishes quickly, leaving sticky lace. Deep mocha chocolate nose, with some roasted grains nicely mixed in. Sweet on the front palate, with mocha, bittersweet chocolate and roasted grain leading congruently to a nicely roasted bitter back. Body is smooth, but the mouthfeel is a little (and just a little) thin for the style. Everything comes together well, and makes for an easy pull. Not bad, one of the better Highland offerings.

definitly a go to highland, poured into pint, pours a full dark brown with fluffy head, lighter on the palate, but malty sweet taste brings it around..

Poured a dark brown with a very thin tan head. Has your typical hints of roasted malts and barley. Has a dark chocolate appeal. Has a small hop finish. Overall a semi sweet smooth porter.

Above average porter. Pith black with a long lasting head. Aroma is of chocolate and roasted malt as is the flavor. Hoppy dry finish. Very nice.
