A unique Highland creation, this robust beer is black in color, very malty with hints of chocolate-roasted flavor and a well balanced hop character.

12 oz bottle via trade (i forget who, but thanks to someone!) Not much in the nose, just some malts and toasted grains. Taste is nutty with some roastiness, and some woody hops in the finish. Body is light, carbonation is moderate to high. A slightly above average porter.

Courtesy pintocb. Black with brown edges. 2.5cm of frothy tan head. Roasty malt and chocolate in the nose. Same flavor with a floral hop finish. Medium, smooth palate. Well done.

Bottle courtesy Shag/Clash. Poured a dark brown color, ok head, ok lacing, nothing spectacular either way. The aroma was chocolate and roasted malts. The flavor followed suit, oatmeal in the finish, but this thing was rather roasty keeping it from coming across anything like a sweet version of an oatmeal stout. Mouthfeel was light to moderate for the style, thinned out by the oatmeal I guess, light graininess to it all. Decent brew, thanks Matt!

On tap in my kegerator. Pours a dark redish brown, nearly black with a tan head. Very good looking brew. Very little aroma for a porter actually, but what was there was sweet, oatmeal, chocolate coffee. The carbonation is a little soda-like for my liking. Terrific flavor...very drinkable, smooth, and a nice sweet, muted coffee/chocolate flavor.

Appearance: Dark brown brew topped with a thin beige-colored head that soon departed the glass. Smell: A severely deficient aroma. Just the very faintest whiff of chocolate and oats. Taste: Ready with a lightly sweet malt flavor. Sparse roastiness. Slight chocolate notes. Light flavors proportionately balanced by a minute hop bitterness. Overall, the flavors are just a hair too thin for me. I’ll keep to their Black Mocha Stout next time! Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body with a rather sharp, pronounced carbonation. Drinkability: The experience was a bit amiss, as the lacking flavors and near-watery body left me unsatisfied and wanting.

Bottle courtesy of Sutttree! Pours dark brown almost black, hazy, with a small tan colored head. Aroma is toastes oatmeal, bakers chocolate, roasted malts, and coffee. Flavor is roasted malts, floral hops, coffee, and toasted oatmeal. Palate is slightly thick, medium carbonation, finishes on the bitter side, however there is some lingering sweetness. Solid.

Bottle courtesy of OldGrowth. Brackish mahogany pour. Light scatters into ruby hues as it attempt to penetrate. Aroma smacks of burnt oatmeal, bakers chocolate, roasted malts, and soft coffee notes. Taste is roasted malts, hops, cold coffee, and burnt oatmeal. Rather typical for the style but tasty nonetheless! Body is chewy but medium with above average carbonation. Ends with more roasted malt, coffee notes dark chocolate and light hops.

12 ounce bottle from pintocb. Pours dark brown, and appears garnet when held to light. Light brown head on top. The roasted character is right upfront with a decent punch of hop aroma. The flavor is roasted coffee with cream. Pretty dry finish.
